Dynamic Design 2021: Chinese Foot Binding
Foot binding was the Chinese custom of breaking and tightly binding the feet of young girls in order to change their shape and size. Feet altered by foot binding were known as lotus feet, and the shoes were known as lotus shoes.
The reason as to why I chose the practice of Chinese foot binding was due to the fact that the assignment for this project was to illustrate the word "superficial."

AAPI Heritage Month 2021: Tom Yum Goong
“Tom yum goong” is an ancient a soup that is widely known, but not well documented. Tom yum or tom yam is a type of hot and sour soup, usually cooked with shrimp. Tom yum has its origin in Thailand.
It’s generally believed that the abundance of freshwater shrimp in the Chao Phraya River gave rise to the dish, causing many to use it as a central component in their soups. As a result, “tom yum goong” is thought to have originated in Central Thailand.
